KHULNA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Sarker today underscored that education and healthcare are the cornerstones of sustainable national development, urging greater public awareness and participation at the grassroots level.
"We must work collectively to make this government initiative a hundred percent successful," he said while presiding over a coordination meeting at the Divisional Commissioner's conference room.
The meeting was organized to ensure the successful implementation of the nationwide Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025, set to begin on October 12 under the government's Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
Officials said that typhoid fever is a preventable infectious disease and the upcoming campaign aims to protect children through mass immunization.
Under the program, children aged between nine months and under 15 years will receive a single dose of the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV).
The vaccination drive will be conducted in two phases, from October 12 to 30 in educational institutions and permanent vaccination centers, and from November 1 to 13 at community and regular centers.
Parents have been requested to register their children online at www.vaxepi.gov.bd
