JHALOKATHI, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - A teacher was killed in a road accident after a bus hit his motorbike in the Pratap area of Jhalokathi Sadar upazila last evening.

The deceased was identified as Tofazzal Hossain, 62, head teacher of Nathullabad Secondary School in Sadar upazila.

The accident occurred around 7:30pm yesterday on the Jhalokathi-Barishal highway when a bus coming from the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle, critically injuring Tofazzal, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalchhiti Police Station A. Salam.

Locals rushed the injured to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
