DHAKA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) - A rickshaw puller was killed in a road accident in front of Red Crescent at Hatirjheel in city today.

The deceased was Abdul Awal, 67, of Bormi village in Sreepur Thana of Gazipur district.

The accident occurred when a speedy private car hit a rickshaw in the area in the early hours of today, leaving rickshaw puller Awal injured critically. 

Locals rescued him and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries.

DMCH police camp in-charge Inspector Mohammad Faruque confirmed the incident, saying the body has been kept at morgue at the hospital.
