CHATTOGRAM, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS)- The election of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCC&I) will be held on November 1 next. 

Director of Local Government Division and Chief of Election Board Monowara Begum today announced the polls schedule.

Members of the business community will elect 24- member Board of Directors of the CCC&I for the session of 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, a press release said. 
The polls will be held at World Trade Center in Agrabad in the city. 

The election board will sit on August 30 to elect delegation from trade group and town associations. 

According to the schedule, primary voter list will be published on September 7 and final voter list on September 14.

Nomination paper will be sold on September 14 and continue up to September 20. Last date of withdrawal of the nomination paper is September 21. 

Draft list of the candidature will be published on September 25 while final candidature list to be published on October 5, 2025. 

Last election of the CCC&I was held in 2013 and after completion of tenure of elected committee, no direct voting of the trade body was held. A section of businessmen under patronization of the then Awami League lawmaker and former CCC&I President M A Latif occupied the leadership of the trade body without any contest. 

The Board of Directors including the President and two vice presidents of resigned following student led July Uprising.
