JHENAIDAH, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - A seven-day tree plantation campaign and tree fair began today in the district with the slogan of 'Let's do planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh.'

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the campaign and fair at a function organized by the district administration and Forest Department on the premises of Deputy Commissioner's office around 10 am.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hosne Ara, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Shashti Chandra Roy, District Assistant Conservator of Forests Gias Uddin and others were present, among others.

Earlier, a colorful rally organized by the district administration was brought out from the Payra crossing and ended at the Deputy Commissioner's office parading the main streets of the town.

Different tree saplings were distributed among students. A total of 24 stalls have been set up at the fair.
