RAJSHAHI, July 21, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime drive, arrested a top-listed criminal with a firearm and ammunition in the city last night.

The arrestee was identified as Murad Sheikh alias Cocktail Murad (40), son of late Nobabjan Sheikh of Borokuthipara under Boalia Police Station, RAB sources said this morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in the Borokuthipara area around 3:30 am and arrested Murad. The team also recovered a foreign-made pistol, a magazine, and one round of bullet from his possession.

According to RAB, Murad had long been involved in various criminal activities. He had been absconding for a long time and was wanted in multiple cases, including robbery, arms, abduction, and drug-related charges.

A case was filed with Boalia Model Police Station in this connection. The arrested person, along with the seized firearm and ammunition, was handed over to the police this morning, the RAB sources added.
