KHULNA, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna District Administration in cooperation with Public Works Division today laid the foundation stone of a memorial at Shibbari Intersection in the city aiming to preserve the memory of the July Uprising martyrs. 

Sheikh Azizur Rahman and Nurun Nahar Begum, parents of the martyr Sheikh Md Sakib Raihan, laid the stone of the memorial foundation.

Khulna deputy commissioner Md Saiful Islam presided over the event. 

Khulna divisional commissioner Md Firoz Sarkar, Khulna Range DIG of police Md Rezaul Haque, President of City Unit BNP Shafiqul Alam Mona, City Unit Jamaat Ameer Prof Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Northern University of Engineering and Technology Dr Anwarul Haque Zoarder, additional commissioner of KMP Abu Raihan Md Saleh, Superintendent of police T M Mossarraf Hossain, executive engineer of PWD-1 Kamrul Islam, Organiser of Khulna and convener of city unit National Citizen Party (NCP) Ahmed Hamim Rahat, and Al Shahriar, joint secretary of Khulna zila Imam Parishad Nazmus Saud, coordinators of Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, government officials, elite and journalists, among others, were present.

Later, a munajat was offered seeking salvation of the departed soul of July uprising martyrs, speedy recovery of injured and welfare of the government.
