NETRAKONA, July 13, 2025 (BSS) - A one and half-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Pogla village under Kolmakanda upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased was Javed, son of Sagar Mia of the same area.

The boy fell into a pond near his house around 3.30 pm without the knowledge of his family members. 

Later, family members rescued him from the pond and took to Kolmakanda Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor Dr. Sourav Ghosh declared him dead. 

Officer-in-Charge of Kolmakanda Police Station Md. Lutfur Rahman confirmed the matter.
