GOPALGANJ, June 26, 2025 (BSS) - A 60-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Bhatiapara area under Kashiani upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Zahirul Sheikh, a resident of Joypur village under Lohagara upazila of the district.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a bus hit the man from behind, leaving him critically injured, said M Ssajedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station.

Locals rescued him and took to 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
