KUSHTIA, June 14, 2025 (BSS) - A woman died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Mirpur Upazila of the district early today.

The deceased was identified as Shefali Khatun, wife of Abdullah, a resident of the Teghoria area under Poradah Union.

Family sources said that Shefali was bitten by a snake early in the morning while collecting firewood from a shed to parboil paddy.

She was immediately taken to Kushtia General Hospital but succumbed to the bite while undergoing treatment around 11am.
