DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation led by Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President for South, Central and West Asia Yingming Yang today met with Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman at the central bank's headquarters in the city.
Deputy Governors Md Habibur Rahman and Dr Md Kabir Ahmed, senior officials of the Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department (FSSSPD) and other officials of Bangladesh Bank were present at the meeting, said a press release.
The meeting discussed banking sector reforms, restructuring and recapitalisation, strengthening financial sector stability and capacity and potential ADB support in these areas.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman reaffirmed the central bank's strong commitment to implementing necessary reforms in the banking sector and the broader financial system.
ADB Vice President Yingming Yang welcomed Bangladesh Bank's commitment to the reform agenda and expressed ADB's continued willingness to provide cooperation and support to the reform process.
Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening mutual cooperation to build a stronger, more stable and sustainable financial sector in Bangladesh.
