RAJSHAHI, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS)- A preparatory meeting for the Regional SME Product Fair-2026 has been held to ensure smooth organization of the fair.

The meeting was held at the conference room of the District Administration on Monday, with Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam in the chair.

The Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (SME Foundation) under the Ministry of Industries is organizing the fair in cooperation with the District Administration.

The fair will be held at the Nazrul Village premises in Rajshahi from September 12, 2026, creating opportunities for small and medium entrepreneurs to display and sell their products and expand their markets. 

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said the SME sector is one of the key driving forces of the country's economy.

Such fairs play an important role in promoting locally manufactured products, expanding markets and creating new entrepreneurs, he said, urging all concerned departments, institutions and business organizations to work in coordination to make the fair a success.

He further said the fair will help promote Rajshahi's potential and traditional products across the country while creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to explore new markets and develop business networks.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali said necessary preparations are being taken to ensure the success of the fair. He called on all concerned to play their roles responsibly in stall management, security, publicity, visitor facilities and overall management. 

Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi Zila Parishad Umme Fatima, Manager of SME Foundation Abu Sayeed, President of Bangladesh Silk Industry Owners Association Liakat Ali, Director of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce Ziauddin Ahmed, and representatives of various concerned departments and institutions attended the meeting.
