Chattogram Chamber to form 57 sub-committees, invites names

CHATTAGRAM, Aug 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has taken an initiative to form 57 standing sub-committees. 

Through these sub-committees, the chamber wants to give importance to members opinions in identifying various problems, challenges and prospects of business, trade and investment in Chattogram and determining necessary measures.

Interested chamber members can submit their names for inclusion in their preferred sub-committees by August 15 (Saturday). They have been requested to send their names to the chamber's email address.

Chattogram Chamber President Mohammad Amirul Haque said today, "We want to give importance to grassroots opinions in identifying the multifaceted problems, challenges and prospects of business, trade and investment in this region and determining the necessary measures. We hope these sub-committees will play an important role in establishing an inclusive and effective chamber."

According to chamber sources, the sub-committees to be formed include LMD, Finance and Banking, Insurance, Port, Shipping, Importers, Exporters, Policy Advocacy, Labour, Lighterage and Inland Water Transport, Food Grain, Salt and Spices, Edible/Cooking Oil, Industrialists, Building Materials, Taxation, Jute, Textile, Small and Cottage Industries, Transport and Communication, Internal Trade, Women Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality, Environment, Energy and Power, Infrastructure Development, ICT, Research and Development, Poultry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Al, Startup, Sick Industry, Cost of Doing Business, Ease of Doing Business, WTO and Industrial Skill Development.

Decentralization and Administrative Reforms, Remittance, External Business Shock, Investment Promotion, Backward and Forward Linkage, International/Bilateral Trade, Plastic Industry, Printing and Packaging Industries, Hotel and Restaurant, Market and Shopping Mall, Bakery and Confectionery, Light Engineering, Green Energy and Carbon Control, Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Leather and Leather Goods, Roads and Highways, Steel and Allied Sector, Cement and Garments Accessories sectors will also come under the sub-committees.

The chamber authorities hope that the sub-committees will work effectively with the participation of businesspeople and entrepreneurs from different sectors. This will create opportunities to identify the problems and demands of businesspeople and raise them with relevant government and private institutions.
