DHAKA, July 29, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh received US$2.621 billion in workers' remittances during the first 28 days of July of the current fiscal year 2026-27, marking a 19.8 percent increase compared with the US$2.187 billion received during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$97 million in remittances on July 28 alone, reflecting the continued strong flow of inward remittances.
The sustained growth in remittance inflows is expected to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves, support external sector stability, and contribute positively to the overall economy.
