DHAKA, July 28, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh received US$2.524 billion in
remittances from expatriate workers during the first 27 days of July, the
opening month of the 2026-27 fiscal year, registering a 20.2 per cent year-
on-year growth.
Latest data released by the Bangladesh Bank showed that inward remittances
reached US$2.524 billion during the period from July 1 to July 27, compared
with US$2.099 billion received during the corresponding period of July last
year.
On July 27 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home US$87 million in
remittances.
The robust inflow of remittances at the beginning of the fiscal year is
expected to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves and provide
continued support to the economy by boosting domestic consumption and
external sector stability.
