DHAKA, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (BCCCI) today organised a seminar on the growing role of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain in transforming business, industry and
trade, stressing the need for responsible adoption of emerging technologies
to enhance competitiveness.
The seminar, titled "AI and Blockchain: Transforming Business, Industry and
Trade" was held at the BCCCI office in Gulshan, bringing together business
leaders, chamber members, technology experts and media representatives, said
a press release.
Speaking at the opening session, BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam said the
seminar would help chamber members gain a better understanding of AI and
Blockchain and encourage them to leverage these technologies to improve
innovation, productivity and business competitiveness.
The seminar highlighted the expanding applications of AI and Blockchain in
business, banking, trade, logistics, manufacturing and other sectors, while
discussing the opportunities, challenges and practical implications of
adopting these technologies.
Khondkar Atique-E-Rabbani, a fellow chartered accountant and a graduate of
the University of Bradford in UK, delivered the keynote presentation, sharing
insights into the current and future applications of AI and Blockchain in
business and trade.
An interactive discussion followed the keynote presentation, where
participants exchanged views on the responsible and ethical use of AI and its
impact on business, finance, logistics and employment.
Participants also shared practical examples of AI applications in banking,
trade and port operations, emphasizing the importance of embracing
technological innovation while ensuring its responsible implementation.
The seminar was attended by the BCCCI Secretary General, members of the Board
of Directors, chamber members, representatives of the Overseas Chinese
Association in Bangladesh (OCAIB), business leaders, media representatives
and other distinguished guests.
The programme concluded with BCCCI reaffirming its commitment to organising
more knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote technological innovation and
strengthen Bangladesh-China business and trade cooperation.
