DHAKA, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has approved a financing target of Taka 160 billion for the fiscal year 2026-27,
marking a 45.34 percent increase from the outgoing fiscal year, with a strong focus on skills development, employment generation and sustainable economic
growth for low-income people.
The budget and annual work plan were approved at a meeting of PKSF's General Body held today at PKSF Bhaban-1 in Agargaon in the city, said a press
release.
The meeting also provided necessary directions for the effective utilization of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) incentive fund allocated for the development of
the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprise (CMSME) sector.
The initiative is expected to facilitate the disbursement of an additional Taka 50 billion to support enterprise growth and job creation.
PKSF said it would place greater emphasis on microenterprise development, skills enhancement and productive employment generation in the coming fiscal
year.
In addition to conventional financing, the organization plans to strengthen sustainable employment and entrepreneurship through blended financing
approaches that combine skills development, innovation, debt finance and equity finance.
Special priority will be given to promoting the creative economy and climate adaptation initiatives. PKSF aims not only to expand financing activities but
also to develop skilled human resources and create sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
The organisation will focus on expanding skills training, entrepreneurship development and market linkage programmes for youth, women and marginalized
communities.
It will also strengthen research activities related to poverty reduction, skills development and employment generation.
According to PKSF, these initiatives are expected to make a significant contribution to increasing productive employment and creating a more
supportive environment for entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
Earlier in the day, a meeting of the PKSF Governing Body was held. Both meetings were chaired by PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan.
PKSF Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader and Board Members Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain, Nurun Nahar, Farzanah Chowdhury and Prof Dr Md Taufiqul Islam
attended the meetings.
Members of the General Body were also present.
