BSIA launches US roadshow to strengthen Bangladesh's semiconductor ecosystem

DHAKA, June 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) is going to launch its USA Roadshow 2026 under the Silicon River and BRAINGAIN initiatives to deepen Bangladesh's engagement with the global semiconductor industry and mobilize Bangladeshi-origin technology leaders worldwide.

The multi-city roadshow, scheduled for June 5-13, will bring together semiconductor companies, universities, accelerators, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, policymakers and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora across the United States, said a press release here today.

Led by BSIA President M. A. Jabbar and Purdue University Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, chief architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative, the delegation will engage with leading industry players, academic institutions and innovation hubs to explore opportunities for collaboration in semiconductor workforce development, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The programme will begin in Austin, Texas, on June 5 with meetings at AMD, Tokyo Electron (TEL) and NXP Semiconductors, focusing on workforce development and industry partnerships.

A BRAINGAIN reception lunch on June 6 and a reception dinner in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 7 will bring together Bangladeshi-origin semiconductor professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and technology leaders.

On June 8, the delegation will visit Arizona State University (ASU) and Cactus Materials to discuss university-industry collaboration, advanced materials research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The roadshow will continue in Silicon Valley on June 9 with meetings at SanDisk and GlobalFoundries, followed by engagements with technology stakeholders and industry leaders.

On June 10, the delegation will visit Synopsys and Credo Technology Group in Folsom, California, before hosting another BRAINGAIN reception dinner.

A flagship BRAINGAIN Banquet Reception will be held in Silicon Valley on June 11 following meetings with Intel, Arm and other semiconductor industry leaders. The event will bring together Bangladeshi-origin executives, professors, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and global technology leaders.

On June 12, the delegation will engage with Berkeley SkyDeck and YES (Engineering the Intelligent Future) to explore opportunities in startup development, innovation, venture creation and technology commercialization.

The programme will conclude in Portland, Oregon, on June 13 with a final BRAINGAIN reception dinner for Bangladeshi-origin technology professionals from the Pacific Northwest region.

According to BSIA, the roadshow is part of the broader Silicon River Initiative, a long-term effort to connect Bangladesh with leading global technology ecosystems through talent development, industry partnerships, research collaboration and strategic international engagement.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, BSIA President M. A. Jabbar said Bangladesh's greatest competitive advantage lies in its people and that Silicon River and BRAINGAIN are helping build bridges between global expertise and national aspirations.

"Our goal is to create opportunities for future generations, strengthen our innovation ecosystem, and position Bangladesh as a meaningful participant in the technologies that will shape the future," he said.

Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain said the future of Bangladesh's semiconductor ecosystem would depend on talent, partnerships and sustained collaboration.

"This roadshow is designed to strengthen relationships with global industry leaders, universities, entrepreneurs, investors and the Bangladeshi diaspora while creating pathways for knowledge exchange, workforce development, innovation and long-term ecosystem growth," he added.

BSIA expects the initiative to create new opportunities for cooperation in chip design, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, research, technology transfer, entrepreneurship and other emerging technologies while strengthening Bangladesh's position in the global semiconductor value chain.
