DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh received US$2.018 billion in remittances during the first 20 days of July, marking a 23.1 percent increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, reflecting the continued strong flow of expatriate earnings into the country.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home US$2.018 billion during the period from July 1 to July 20, 2026, against US$1.639 billion received during the same period in 2025.

On July 20 alone, inward remittances amounted to US$75 million.

The robust growth in remittance inflows is expected to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves, support external sector stability, and contribute positively to the national economy during the early part of the 2026-27 fiscal year.
