DHAKA, April 27, 2026 (BSS) - Trust Bank PLC officially launched UnionPay debit and credit cards on Sunday at a hotel in the capital.
The new cards were unveiled by Trust Bank PLC Chairman and Chief of Army Staff Waqar-uz-Zaman.
Trust Bank Vice Chairman and Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army Major General Md. Hossain Al Morshed, Nurun Nahar, CEO of UnionPay International Larry Wang, Managing Director and CEO of Trust Bank Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Country Manager of UnionPay International Bangladesh Md. Masud Raihan, EVP and Head of Cards of Trust Bank Md. Mustafa Musharraf, among others, were present at the event.
The launch of UnionPay cards marks a significant milestone in expanding Trust Bank's global payment solutions and enhancing customer benefits, said a press release today.

With the newly introduced cards, Bangladeshi customers will be able to access a wide range of services across UnionPay network countries, both at home and abroad. These include seamless international transactions, payment of medical expenses, tuition fee payments, airport lounge access and various exclusive lifestyle benefits, the PR release added.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of Trust Bank and Army Chief said the partnership with UnionPay International aims to ensure advanced and secure banking services aligned with the digital era.
He added that the cards will provide convenient and globally accepted financial transaction facilities for customers from different segments, including students, medical service seekers and businesspeople.
Through this initiative, Trust Bank PLC reaffirmed its commitment to innovative banking services, customer-centric operations and the development of the country's digital banking sector.
