DHAKA, April 08, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation from the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) met with the Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Abdul Khaleque, to discuss potential collaboration in developing technical education in Bangladesh.
The delegation was led by Brig Gen Shah Md Sultan Uddin Iqbal, BP, ndu, psc, PhD (retd), chairman of BCCCI’s Standing Sub-Committee on Education and Research. During the meeting, the Secretary welcomed the delegation and appreciated BCCCI’s ongoing efforts to support the advancement of technical education in the country, said a press release.
BCCCI, in collaboration with Beijing ArkGalaxy Technology Co Ltd, presented a proposal outlining several areas of cooperation.
These included the introduction of new departments and subjects, international standardization of existing programs, teacher training, technology transfer, and experience sharing. The proposal also covered the supply of machinery and educational materials, as well as internship opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Chinese companies both in Bangladesh and China, and potential employment pathways in China-related enterprises.
Representatives of the Chinese company expressed their willingness to provide technical assistance supported by Chinese funding for the implementation of the proposed initiatives.
The secretary emphasized the need to integrate smart technologies and artificial intelligence across sectors, particularly in agriculture, and encouraged greater collaboration between Chinese investors and local stakeholders to ensure wider public benefit.
The meeting was also attended by Dr Md Rakibul Hoque, director of BCCCI and co-chairman of its Education and Research sub-committee, and Md Abu Taher, executive director of BCCCI.
Representatives from Beijing ArkGalaxy included Yue Xueshan, overseas director; Xu Wenxiang, General Manager of CCECC; and Dr. Sadi of the Yi Tai Yi Lu Chinese Language Institute.
