BPPA submits its annual report to IMED

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2026 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) today submitted its Annual Report for the fiscal year 2024–2025 to the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) in accordance with the provisions of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority Act, 2023 and the Right to Information Act, 2009.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BPPA, S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed, formally handed over the report to Secretary of IMED, Shirajun Noor Chowdhury, at his office on the Bangladesh Planning Commission campus in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. Officials of BPPA were present at the handover ceremony.

The Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the policy and institutional framework, operations, and progress of Bangladesh’s public procurement system during FY 2024–2025.

It is intended to serve as an authoritative reference document, offering insights into electronic government procurement (e-GP), sustainable public procurement (SPP), amendments to laws and rules, capacity-building and training initiatives, and post-procurement review mechanisms, said a press release.

Expressing his appreciation, the IMED Secretary thanked BPPA for submitting the report and noted that it would serve as a useful reference for preparing future annual reports. He also commended the overall design and presentation of the publication.

The CEO of BPPA remarked that this is the first-ever Annual Report of the Authority. The BPPA was established on 18 September, 2023 through the transformation of the former Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of IMED into an authority.
