DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) - The three-day Bangladesh-China Green Textile Expo (BCGTX) 2025 was inaugurated today at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital, with a strong emphasis on sustainable innovations aimed at making Bangladesh's readymade garment (RMG) sector fully green by 2028.
Organised by Savor International Limited, the expo is co-organised by the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB), while the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Shanghai Climate Week are serving as strategic partners.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
BGMEA Vice-President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, BTMC Chairman Brigadier General S M Zahid Hasan, BCCCI President Md Khorshed Alam, CEAB President Han Kun, Executive Secretary General of the Shanghai Climate Week Executive Committee Guan Jie, Professor Fu Jiajia of Jiangnan University, CEAB Textile and Garment Branch President Ga Zhenyu (Mike Ga), and Savor International Managing Director Md Faizul Alam attended the ceremony as special guests.
The exhibition brings together leading textile and garment companies, investors, technologists, and business delegates from both Bangladesh and China to showcase sustainable and eco-friendly textile technologies and innovations.
In his remarks, Ambassador Yao Wen reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Bangladesh's transition toward environmentally friendly garment production.
"Through joint efforts, I am confident Bangladesh's RMG sector can become fully green by 2028," he said.
Organisers said the expo would serve as a platform to strengthen Bangladesh-China collaboration in green innovation and sustainable industrial practices, setting a benchmark for future-oriented textile development.
