N'ganj City Corporation announces Tk 775.33cr budget

NARAYANGANJ, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) today announced a budget of Taka 775 crore 33 lakh 78 thousand and 158 for the fiscal year 2025-26. 

NCC Administrator AHM Kamruzzaman announced the budget at a function held at Nagar Bhaban auditorium this afternoon.

According to the proposed plan, the total revenue is set at Taka 775 crore 33 lakh 78 thousand 158, while total expenditure in the revenue and development sectors is projected at Taka 678 crore 13 lakh 57 thousand 138, leaving a surplus of Taka 96 crore 40 lakh 21 thousand 19.

Speaking on the occasion, AHM Kamruzzaman said the budget follows an expenditure reduction policy for the fiscal year, while maintaining the highest allocation for the development sector as in previous years. 

Initiatives have been taken to minimize unnecessary expenses, with priorities given to infrastructure development, water supply system improvements, waste management, primary healthcare, education and cultural expansion, environmental pollution control, traffic congestion reduction, sports development, waterlogging mitigation, street lighting, and enhancement of IT-based citizen services.

The administrator urged city residents to pay holding taxes on time, emphasizing that their cooperation is vital to realize Narayanganj's vision of becoming an environmentally friendly, healthy, safe, and poverty-free planned city.

NCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Zakir Hossain, Secretary Nur Qutubul Alam, former city councilors, political party leaders and representatives from various sectors attended the event.
