Rangpur Chamber to promote bilateral trade with SAARC countries 

RANGPUR, Dec 17, 2022 (BSS)-President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu today said steps would be taken to promote bilateral trade with SAARC nations for faster economic progress in the Rangpur division.
 
“Various steps have already been taken to attract the investments in Rangpur division to promote private sector enterprises, trade and industrialisation to create employment to accelerate the economic development in the division,” he said this while presiding over the annual general meeting (AGM) of the RCCI held at its auditorium here. 
  
Titu presented the excerpts of the previous AGM for 2020 and 2021, annual reports, audit report and statements of accounts for 2021-2022 FY, appointment of auditors, revised budget for 2022 and proposed budget for 2023- 2024 FY and those were adopted unanimously for open discussions.  
 
Former RCCI President and incumbent Senior Vice-president of FBCCI Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Former RCCI President, former FBCCI Director and Rangpur District Council Chairman freedom fighter Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, former RCCI Senior Vice-president freedom fighter Mohammad Jahangir and general members of RCCI, among others joined in different sessions of the AGM. 
 
The speakers suggested bringing more dynamism in RCCI activities, accelerating industrialisation in private sectors, flourishing trade and business for the economic development of the Rangpur region. 
 
Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu said the door of Rangpur Chamber is always open for all its member-traders to solve any of their problems. 
 
The twenty standing committees of Rangpur Chamber will work to identify and quickly solve various sector-wise problems. 
 
“Rangpur Chamber is playing an important role in providing humanitarian assistance to suffering people as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) alongside taking multi-faceted initiatives in expanding business and investment,” he said. 
 
He expressed strong hope to speed up the economic development of Rangpur division by organizing workshops and seminars in the New Year aiming at developing the division, creating young entrepreneurs and increasing trade in the SAARC countries. 
 
During the tenure of the existing Board of Directors of RCCI, meetings and seminars were organized with law enforcement agencies, administrations and authorities related to import-export, banking, VAT-Tax to resolve problems and smoothly conduct business and industrialization activities.
 
“Rangpur Chamber has taken various steps to attract investment and export of Bangladeshi products and arranged view-exchange events with the chiefs of different missions with the aim of expanding bilateral trade and commerce,” he added.
 
Senior Vice-president of RCCI Md. Azizul Islam Mintu, its Vice-president Manzoor Ahmed Azad, Directors Reaz Shaheed Shovan, Md. Shahjahan Babu, Md. Akbar Ali, Md. Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, Md. Obaidur Rahman Ratan, Md. Zaved Hasan, Ajoy Prasad Babon, Khemchand Somani Rabi, Partho Bose, Md. Zulfiquer Aziz Khan Bhutto, Md. Sabihul Haque, Md. Amjad Hossain Chowdhury and former Directors and officials, general members and associate members were present.
