SYLHET, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - Tilagor Ecopark located in the Tilagor area of Sylhet city is a place of nature lovers as it allows visitors to feel that they are working through a haven of natural beauty.
Every day, many people from different parts of the country visit the park to enjoy the taste of nature.
“We, two friends, have come to Tilagor Ecopark to spend some time with nature and enjoy the calm and cool environment of the forest,” Habibul Bashar, a local city resident, told BSS.
Noyon hailing from Narail was visiting the eco-park with his family members.
“It is a beautiful place to visit and children also love to see much wildlife including deer and birds kept in the cages at the park,” he said.
Tilagor Ecopark is the third such park in Bangladesh, which was developed with some hillocks. There is a stream that has passed through the small hills of the ecopark.
There are a number of fruit trees as well as the combinations of biodiversity. There are picnic corners and children's corners there.
Established on 112 acres of forest, there is a wildlife conservation centre in Tilagor Ecopark.
Different species of wildlife including deer, python, zebra and bird species like peacock, golden pheasant, silver pheasant, macaw and gray parrot have been kept in cages at the park aiming to draw visitors.
According to the Forest Department, the Tilagor Ecopark has been given lease to a private firm – Jalal Enterprise – for maintenance.
Entry fee for the ecopark is Taka 23 per person, while it is free for children.
Forest beat officer Shipon Ahmed said the Forest Department looks after the reserve forest, while Jalal Enterprise has been working for the maintenance of the ecopark.
Tilagor Ecopark was established in 2006 in Tilagor Reserve Forest located on the eastern side of Sylhet district. It is situated on the east side of the city, near Sylhet Agricultural University and Sylhet Engineering College.
