DHAKA, July 20, 2025 (BSS) – The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) is working to ensure the participation of national tourism organisations (NTOs) from at least 10 countries in the upcoming 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025, scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1 this year.

The three-day fair will take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BBCFCC) in the capital.

TOAB President Mohammed Rafiuzzaman announced the schedule during a discussion with the executive committee of the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) at the TOAB office this afternoon.

At the meeting, Rafiquzzaman highlighted various obstacles and challenges facing the country’s tourism sector, noting that addressing these issues through journalistic reporting can play a significant role in advancing the industry.

He said that while Bangladesh’s tourism sector has immense potential, it continues to face challenges including inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of skilled human resources, weak implementation of tourism policies, and concerns over safety and cleanliness.

To overcome these barriers, he underscored the need for integrated public-private initiatives, internationally standardised training, and targeted destination development.

ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar and General Secretary Baten Biplob also spoke at the discussion, reiterating the forum’s commitment to supporting sustainable tourism development in the country.

This year’s fair is expected to feature around 220 stalls, with participation from the United Kingdom, European Union member countries, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan,  Philippines, China, and others.
