Sheikh Jamal DC lose valuable points

DHAKA, Nov 20, 2022 (BSS)- Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club lost valuable points
as they were forced by Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society to play a 2-2
goal draw in the group D match of Bashundhara Group Independence Cup Football
held today (Sunday) at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

With the day's outcome, Sheikh Jamal secured four points from two matches
while the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society collected
one point playing the same number of matches.

In the day's match, Uzbek forward Otabek Valizhonov and defender Shakil Ahmed
scored one goal each for Sheikh Jamal while Tajikistan forward Fatkhulo
Fatkhulloev and substitute forward Samin Yasar netted one goal apiece for
Rahmatgtanj Muslim and Friends Society.

Following attacks and counter attacks, Otabek finally broke the deadlock
scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 45+2nd minute while after the
breather Sakil doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Sheikh Jamal in
the 53rd minute of the match.

But, Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society staged a brilliant fight back when
Fatkhulloev pulled one back scoring the first goal in the 62nd minute and
Samin restored the parity scoring the second goal for old Dhaka outfit
Rahmatganj in the 69th minute of the match.

Sheikh Jamal, however, tried their best to take the lead further but they
could not score any goal in the remaining proceeding.

Sheikh Jamal will play against Bangladesh Police Football Club while
Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will meet BFF Elite Football Academy
team in their respective last group matches scheduled to be held on November
24.

Earlier, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat BFF Elite Football Academy team by
3-0 goals while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society suffered a 1-4 goal
defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club in their respective group opening
matches.
 
Monday's matches: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Sheikh Russel Krira
Chakra at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj and Bangladesh Navy
Football Club vs Fortis Football Club at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium
in Cumilla.

Both the matches kick off at 1 pm.
