DHAKA, August 4, 2021 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) will observe the 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, tomorrow through various programmes.

To mark the day, officials of the BOA will pay rich tribute to Sheikh Kamal by placing wreaths at his grave at Banani graveyard around 10 am while it will arrange a milad and doa mahfil on its media center premises at 5 pm seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) will also arrange a handball exhibition match tomorrow to mark the birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal, the founder of Abahani Krira Chakra (now Abahani Limited), all time great sports organiser and freedom fighter.

The exhibition match, organised by BHF, to be held between team Handball Dhaka and Handball Training Center at National Handball Stadium at 3.30 pm maintaining the proper health protocol.

The Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) also chalked out various programmes to mark the day. The BTF will observe the day through daylong programmes like holding doa mahfil seeking eternal peace of the departed soul, cutting cake and painting competition which will be held at Mohammadpur Taekwondo Club.

Besides, the BTF will also hold Sheikh Kamal Smrity Virtual Poomsae competition tomorrow to be participated by 250 male and female competitors from 10 taekwondo clubs in different categories.

Meanwhile, different sports federations and sports associations have chalked out various programmes to mark the day.
