DHAKA, Aug 29, 2022 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Olympic Association's (BOA)

expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sheikh Abdul Hakim, a member
of the Swadhin Bangla football team.

     In a message, the BOA's secretary general Syed Shahed Reza, all
officials and employees of BAO expressed deep shock at the death of Sheikh
Abdul Hakim and prayed eternal peace for the departed soul and conveyed deep
sympathy to the bereaved family.

     During the war of liberation in 1971, Swadhin Bangla football team
toured throughout India playing some friendly matches to raise international
awareness and economic support

     The veteran footballer passed away Sunday. He was 75. He suffered a
stroke a month earlier and died while undergoing treatment at a city
hospital, said a BOA condolence message today.
