DHAKA, May 23, 2022 (BSS) - Sri Lanka batter Kusal Mendis was cleared of any
major complications after complaining chest pain during the opening day's
game of the second cricket Test against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National
Cricket Stadium today.
He underwent through an ECG test which come out clear. The doctors, however,
suspected muscle spasm for his discomfort, a BCB official said
Mendis was taken to a hospital for proper diagnosis and better management
after he left the ground, holding his chest just minutes before the lunch
session on day one.
"He underwent an ECG and there was no major issue in the report. Hopefully,
he will report back to the hotel within a couple of hours as he is now under
observation," a BCB official said.
Mendis made 54 and 48 runs respectively in the drawn Test in Chattogram.
