Ziaur still maintains solo lead

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2022 (BSS)-GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Police still maintained  his solo lead in the points table with 7.5 points after the eighth or penultimate round matches of the Al Mahmud Memorial Probashi FIDE Master Rating Chess tournament now being held at the Chess Federation hall-room the National Sports Council old building in the city.

CM Nayem Haque and Arpan Das (Jr.) of India following the leader with 6.5 points.

Eight players are sharing third position with six points. They are GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, CM Manon Reja Neer and Anata Choudhury.

In the day’s eighth round matches held today (Saturday) with GM Zia split point with Arpan, CM Tashin split point with Anata, IM Shakil split point with FM Nasir, CM Nayem CM Sharif Hossain, CM Neer split point with FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, GM Rakib beat Mrittuka Mallick, Sakline Mostafa Sajid drew with IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin Ahmed, FM Parag defeated CM Ikramul Haq Siam, CM Sohel Chowdhury split point with FM Subrota, Masum Hossain split point with Abzid Rahman, CM Sadnan Hasan Dihan split point with Tutul Dhar, CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh beat Feroz Ahmed, CM Shawket Bin Osman Shaon beat Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan, Marzouq Chowdhury drew with CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, FM Mohammad Javed outclassed  Shatadru Hossain, Shahinur Hossain beat Abdul Momin, Swarnavo Choudhury split point with Ankit Ray and Priyanshu Barua beat Azmaeen Parvez Sayor.
