DHAKA, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh women's national football team reached Japan safely early today to participate in the women's football competition of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The team arrived in Japan at around 3 am Bangladesh time today (Saturday), following a preparation camp in China. The team left China on Friday, according to a message received here.
With their arrival in Japan, the Bangladesh women's team has officially begun its Asian Games campaign.
Bangladesh have been drawn in Group B and will open their campaign against DPR Korea on September 14.
They will play their second group match against the Republic of Korea on September 17 before taking on Myanmar in their final group match on September 21.
Bangladesh have participated in the Asian Games women's football competition only once before.
At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in China, Bangladesh were eliminated in the group stage after securing one draw and suffering two defeats in three matches.
