DHAKA, Sept 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh's hopes of qualifying for the upcoming Junior Hockey World Cup ended today as the U-20 national hockey team suffered a 6-2 goal defeat to Japan in the sixth place deciding match of the Men's Junior Asia Cup Hockey held in Moqi, China.

In the proceeding, Mehedi and Munna scored one goal each for Bangladesh. The defeat ended the red-and-green side's chance of qualifying for the next Junior Hockey World Cup.

Bangladesh will play their final match of the tournament tomorrow when they take on their opponents in the seventh and eighth place- deciding encounter.
