DHAKA, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced a 15-member High Performance (HP) squad for the Top End T20 tournament in Darwin, Australia, with seven players in the squad having International experience.
Wicketkeeper-batter Irfaan Shukkur will lead the Bangladesh HP side in the tournament, which will be held from Aug 21 to 30.
Sabbir Rahman, Rakibul Hasan, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, Ripon Mondal, Abu Haider Rony, Shamim Patwari and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury are the seven players who played for national teams at some point of their career.
34-year old Sabbir is the only player in the squad to have represented Bangladesh in all three formats of international cricket.
Bangladesh will participate in the Top End T20 for the third time. The HP side reached the final in one of its previous two appearances but failed to win the title.
Nine teams will take part in this season's Top End T20, including New Zealand A, Nepal, Chicago Kings, Australian Capital Territory, Cricket Victoria, Adelaide Strikers, Hobart Hurricanes and Northern Territory Strike.
Each team will play six matches in the league phase before the semi-finals and final.
Bangladesh HP will begin their campaign against Nepal on August 22, before facing Hobart Hurricanes Academy on August 23, Cricket Victoria XI on August 24, Adelaide Strikers Academy on August 25, New Zealand A on August 27 and Northern Territory Strike on August 28.
