DHAKA, July 27, 2026 (BSS) — Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan looked to be over the moon after making an impressive debut in the Lankan Premier League (LPL), saying contributing to Galle's victory meant more to him than his personal performance.

Opening the innings for Galle, Sohan made a blistering start, scoring 29 off just 13 balls, including three fours and a six, to lay the platform as his side amassed 220-6 before restricting Dambulla Sixers to 176-7 for 44-run victory.

"Alhamdulillah, it feels great. The best feeling is that I was able to contribute to the team and help us win the match," Sohan said after the game.

"I found out in the morning that I would be playing. I spoke with the coach and captain Dasun Shanaka. We felt we needed a better start from the opening or top order, and Alhamdulillah, I was able to do that for the team."

Sohan's aggressive knock gave Galle early momentum, allowing the middle order to capitalize and post a competitive total.

Regarding his attacking approach, the Bangladesh batter said he hopes to maintain his form as the tournament progresses.

"Our team is also doing well. I hope I can finish the tournament strongly. It feels good that the team was able to win. We still have two league matches left, and I hope I can continue to perform well," he said.

Sohan also acknowledged the unwavering support of Bangladesh's cricket fans, saying their passion serves as a constant source of motivation.

"The love people in Bangladesh have for cricket is different from anywhere else. It's hard to express in words. When we don't perform well, we also feel bad. When we do well, they are the first people we think of. It's a different feeling. I am trying to do well in this tournament, and hopefully we can finish it on a high," he said.
