DHAKA, July 19, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy credited a team 
meeting following the opening defeat for his side's remarkable turnaround 
after they clinched the three-match T20 International series 2-1 with a four-
wicket victory over Zimbabwe in Bulawayo today.

Bangladesh recovered from losing the first match to win the next two 
convincingly, ending an otherwise disappointing tour on a positive note after 
earlier conceding the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series.

"Alhamdulillah. We did well as a batting and bowling unit. For the last two 
matches, we dominated and controlled the game," Hridoy said after the match.

The stand-in captain revealed that the players had an honest discussion after 
the opening defeat, which helped them adapt better to the conditions.

"When we lost the first match, we had a meeting and discussed the conditions 
and how we would go forward. Our boys really played well after that; both the 
bowling and batting units."

Hridoy also praised leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for making an immediate impact 
and opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim for guiding the chase with another composed 
innings.

"We know about Rishad's ability. When he gets the opportunity, he comes in, 
shows his character and dominates the bowling here."

On Tanzid, he added: "He's a class batsman. We know his ability, and whenever 
he gets in, he always tries to finish the game and show up for the team."

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza believed his side fell just short with the 
bat, saying they were around five to 10 runs below a competitive total on a 
surface that became increasingly difficult for batting.

"I thought 155. We realized this is a typical Bulawayo wicket that's going to 
get harder to bat on, and it did. I just think we were maybe five to 10 runs 
short," Raza said.

However, he admitted Zimbabwe's poor fielding ultimately proved decisive.

"Had we fielded a little bit better, we could have made a game out of it 
anyway. There were dropped chances, misfields and too many twos that 
shouldn't have been. Our game awareness today in the field was quite poor."

Raza said pacer Brad Evans showed character while defending the final over 
despite having too few runs to work with.

"Credit to Brad that he showed a lot of character and heart there. Had we 
fielded better, he might have been defending 15 to 18 runs instead of five."

Despite the series defeat, Raza highlighted Zimbabwe's pace attack as the 
biggest positive from the contest.

"Our bowling lineup on these Bulawayo surfaces has been excellent, especially 
the seamers. I think that's the biggest positive from the series."
