DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh allrounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat said
he is determined to contribute according to the team's needs after earning a
recall to the national T20 squad for the ongoing Zimbabwe tour.
Mosaddek returned to Bangladesh's ODI side during the recent home series
against Australia after a four-year hiatus and retained his place in the
squad for the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe, marking his return to
the shortest format after a lengthy break.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are currently in Bulawayo, where the T20 series
begins tomorrow (Wednesday). Ahead of the opening match, Bangladesh continued
their preparations at the venue.
In a video message released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Mosaddek
said he has set high expectations for himself following his successful ODI
comeback.
"The expectations from myself are very high. I performed well after returning
to the team and now I have to do even better. I have to play according to the
team's needs," he said.
The allrounder also spoke on the conditions in Bulawayo as he said its
different compared to Harare, where Bangladesh played the Test and ODI
matches.
"The conditions here are a bit different from Harare. The air is stronger,
and the environment is slightly different," he said, adding that his goal is
to make an impact in the match he starts in the playing XI.
"Whenever I get an opportunity to play, my goal is to make an impact and help
the team win. That has always been my priority," Mosaddek remakred.
Bangladesh will look to finish the Zimbabwe tour on a positive note when the
three-match T20 series gets underway in Bulawayo tomorrow (Wednesday).
