KANSAS CITY, July 12, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - The World Cup quarter-final between reigning champions Argentina and Switzerland went into extra-time on Saturday after the match finished 1-1 at the end of normal time.

Alexis Mac Allister scored Argentina's opener on 10 minutes but Switzerland slowly got into the game and Dan Ndoye finished off a well-worked move to bring them level midway through the second half.

The Swiss took a blow though when forward Breel Embolo was sent off for simulation on 72 minutes.
