BIIT Model School crowned Prime Bank School Cricket champions

DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - BIIT Model School and College of Bogura
fulfilled a dream as they were crowned champions of the Prime Bank School
Cricket tournament after beating Rajshahi Loknath High School by 91 runs in
the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today.

While BIIT celebrated the title triumph, players from both teams spent time
taking photographs around the iconic venue, cherishing the rare opportunity
to play at Bangladesh's premier cricket stadium where many of the country's
international stars regularly perform.

A total of 6,940 cricketers from 347 schools competed in this year's
tournament, with only BIIT Model School and Rajshahi Loknath High School
reaching the final after progressing through the nationwide competition.

Asked to bat first after losing the toss, BIIT Model School posted 242 before
being bowled out. Golam Rasul led the charge with a blistering 84 off 53
balls, striking four fours and eight sixes, while Bayezid Bostami made 50

Golam Rasul was named Player of the Final and also finished as the
tournament's best player and highest run-scorer with 183 runs.

Despite ending on the losing side, Rajshahi's Sifat Ali finished as the
tournament's leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in four matches.

Following the presentation ceremony, players from both teams remained on the
field, taking photographs to preserve memories of playing at the Sher-e-

cricket proved as memorable as the final itself, with many leaving Mirpur
carrying an experience they are likely to cherish for the rest of their
lives.
