DHAKA, June 3, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul
Haque has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Bangladesh women's
national football team for qualifying for the final of the SAFF Women's
Championship for the third consecutive time after defeating Nepal women's
national football team.
The State Minister expressed his delight of Bangladesh's impressive 2-1
victory in the first semi-final of the tournament held in Goa, India today
(Wednesday).
He expressed hope that the team would carry forward the momentum from the
previous two editions and produce another outstanding performance in the
final to secure yet another prestigious trophy for the country.
In a congratulatory message, Aminul Haque said Bangladesh's women footballers
have repeatedly demonstrated their talent and ability on the international
stage. He described the thrilling victory over Nepal as a reflection of the
players' hard work, determination and unwavering winning mentality, as well
as a moment of immense pride for the entire nation.
He thanked all members of the team, the coaching staff and officials of the
Bangladesh Football Federation for the remarkable achievement and assured
them of his full support in their future endeavors.
The State Minister further stated that the government remains committed to
the overall development of sports in the country, particularly the
advancement of women's football. According to him, the team's consistent
success on the field serves as a source of inspiration for female athletes
across Bangladesh.
