Bangladesh women's team face Sri Lanka tomorrow

DHAKA, Jan 20, 2026 (BSS) - Motivated Bangladesh women's team take on Sri Lanka in the SAFF Women's Futsal Championship scheduled to be held at Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow.

The match kicks off at 1 pm (BST).

Bangladesh currently stand second position in the point table with seven points from three matches while Sri Lanka stand sixth position with one point playing the same number of matches.

Earlier, Bangladesh made a winning start in the tournament beating India by 3-1 goals in their opening match. Thanks to skipper Sabina Khatun who played a key role behind the Bangladesh victory scoring a brace.

Sabina and Co, came from behind, played out to a 3-3 with Bhutan in their second match and blanked Nepal by 3-0 goals in their third match.

While Sri Lanka played out to a 2-2 with Nepal, suffered 3-2 defeat to Pakistan and 5-1 defeat to Bhutan. 

After Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will play their remaining matches against Pakistan (January 23) and Maldives (January 25) at the same venue.

The table toppers at the end of all seven rounds of matches will be crowned in the SAFF Women's Futsal champions.
