DHAKA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - The sixth round of the 27th National Cricket
League (NCL) began today at different venues across the country, with
Chattogram's Jillur Rahman Bijoy making headlines by scoring a brilliant
century.
However, it was the bowlers who dominated most of the matches on Day 1.
Chattogram vs Rangpur
Jillur Rahman Bijoy, in only his second first-class match, scored a maiden
century to keep Chattogram in the hunt against Rangpur at Cox's Bazar
Stadium.
Chattogram finished Day 1 at 270-6, with Bijoy unbeaten on 105, having
completed his century. He will resume the second day alongside Nayeem Hasan,
who was on 8.
The 21-year old Bijoy steadied the innings after Chattogram's top order
collapsed, losing three quick wickets. He and Captain Yasir Ali shared a
vital 148-run partnership for the fourth wicket, laying a solid foundation
for the team. Yasir was dismissed for 77, just missing out on a century.
Robiul Haque was the pick of the bowlers for Rangpur, taking 3-49, while
Mehedi Hasan claimed 2-48.
Mymensingh vs Barishal
All-rounder Abu Haider Rony played a blistering knock of 86* off 64 balls to
put Mymensingh in a strong position against Barishal at Sylhet Academy.
His knock, which included seven fours and six sixes, guided Mymensingh to
280-6 at stumps. Al-Amin Hossain was unbeaten on 70 at the close of play.
After opting to bat first, Mymensingh suffered an early collapse, losing
their openers-- Mahfijul Islam and Naim Sheikh-- cheaply.
Ariful Islam's 48 helped steady the ship, but Mymensingh still found
themselves struggling at 160-6.
Haider and Al-Amin then combined for an unbroken 120-run partnership to put
Mymensingh on track for a big total.
Khulna vs Dhaka
Mohammad Mithun's resilient 59 helped Khulna recover from a top-order
collapse against Dhaka Division at Khulna Divisional Stadium. Khulna were all
out for 194, but Dhaka were in a strong position at stumps, reaching 64-1.
Mithun's knock came after a dramatic collapse, with Sumon Khan and Mahfujur
Rahman Rabby taking three wickets each to leave Khulna struggling.
Mithun's innings, which included seven fours and three sixes, was the
backbone of the innings, but he lacked support from the other end.
Mahfujur Rahman eventually dismissed Mithun for 59. Sheikh Parvez Jibon also
contributed with 34 runs.
For Dhaka, Anisul Islam Emon was unbeaten on 35, while Foysal Ahmed was on 17
at the close of play, with the loss of Joyraj Sheikh (8).
Rajshahi vs Sylhet
SM Meherob and Rahim Ahmed struck half-centuries to give Rajshahi the edge
over Sylhet at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Rajshahi posted a total of 236 all out, with Meherob scoring 56 and Rahim
contributing 51. Sylhet finished the day at 35-2.
Rajshahi's innings was disrupted by a top-order collapse, leaving them at
121-5. However, Meherob and Rahim shared a crucial 58-run partnership for the
sixth wicket, helping Rajshahi surpass the 200-run mark on a tricky pitch.
Nabil Samad was the standout bowler for Sylhet, claiming 4-42, while pacer
Abu Jayed Rahi also impressed with 3-62.
Sylhet's reply began with a shaky start, losing two wickets cheaply. Captain
Zakir Hasan was unbeaten on 17, with Asadullah Galib on 2 at stumps.
