DHAKA, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - Azerbaijan began their Tri-Nation series with a winning note as they blanked Malaysia by 2-0 goals held at National Stadium under the flood light today.

In the day's match, midfielder Bozdag Peritan and Defender Mirazliyeva Nigar scored one goal each for Azerbaijan. Both the goals came in the first half.

The early breakthrough came from Azerbaijan in the 4th minute. Bozdag Peritan sent the ball to the net with a right footer shot from the top of the box.  

The second goal came for Azerbaijan in the 24th minute. Defender Mirazliyeva Nigar took a long range right footer shot, the ball crushed into the back of the net after hitting the cross bar.

After the resumption, Malaysia however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but they could not score any in the remaining proceeding.

Earlier, Malaysia beat host Bangladesh by 1-0 goal in their opening match of the tournament. 

Azerbaijan will play their second and ultimate match against Bangladesh on December 2 at the same venue.
