DHAKA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh captain Liton Das won the toss and sent Ireland in to bat first in the three-match T20 International series opening game at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today.
The series is officially Bangladesh's last T20 assignment of the T20 World Cup next year in Sri Lanka and India.
While it will give Bangladesh their last chance to fine tune their squad, Ireland will get a valuable sub-continent exposure before the showcase event.
Bangladesh had won four T20 series this year in a row before suffering a 3-0 thrashing against the West Indies at home in their last campaign in this format.
They will be looking to rebound from that disappointment to cap off a successful year.
Ireland didn't secure a T20I series victory since May 2024. They also lost the recent Test series against Bangladesh 2-0 and so the series gives them an opportunity to make a statement.
Bangladesh made three changes from the last T20 against West Indies with Towhid Hridoy, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman returning to the fold, replacing Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahedi Hasan and Taskin Ahmed.
Line Ups:
