DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) -The National Sports Council (NSC) issued a letter
to all sports federations and associations asking the players of the national
teams not to participate in any kind of election campaign.
Director of Sports Aminul Ehsan signed the letter in this regard on behalf of
the NSC today (Monday).
The NSC mentioned in the letter that players of the national team are the
country's assets and a symbol of solidarity for all citizens. It is
undesirable for sports and the image of players to be associated with any
kind of political or electoral activities or to use them in the interest of
protecting the neutrality and sanctity of sports.
The NSC noted that ahead of the upcoming election, certain groups or
individuals are attempting to use players for political purposes in election
campaigns. The sports regulatory body thinks that it goes against the sports
regulations and can pollute the environment of the sporting arena.
According to the directive from the NSC, no national team player will be
used, directly or indirectly, in any political party's election campaign or
in support of any candidate.
The NSC also warned that violating these instructions could harm the
country's healthy sports environment and has instructed everyone to obey with
these directives.
