RANGPUR, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - The RPL Season-3 Cricket T20 Tournament 2025 was inaugurated today at Rangpur Stadium, with eight teams from the district participating.

Rangpur District Football Association President Manjur Ahmed Azad, along with local dignitaries, sportspersons, and political leaders, formally opened the tournament by releasing pigeons.

Senior BNP leader Kawsar Zaman Babla, Metropolitan Jubo Dal convener Nurunnabi Chowdhury Milon, Member Secretary Atiqur Islam Lelin, senior joint convener Jahir Alam Nayan, and 'Echche Society' founder Tanvir Ahmed Tushar were also present.

The opening match was played between the 'Vinnojagat Imozhar' and 'Taqwa Fashion' teams.

Addressing the occasion, Metropolitan Jubo Dal senior joint convener Jahir Alam Nayan said the tournament was organized to encourage youth participation in sports and keep them away from drugs.

Rangpur District Football Association President Manjur Ahmed Azad said greater attention to sports among school and college students helps develop mental strength and physical fitness, and improves focus on studies.

He added, "We are working together to organize more games on the field," and wished the tournament success.
