DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - Inter-district age-group women's badminton competition begins at the Riya Gop Women's Sports Complex in Dhanmondi tomorrow (Friday). 

Bangladesh Women's Sports Association organized the competition marking the Festival of Youth 2025.

Youth and Sports Ministry's Additional Secretary Md Selim Fakir is expected to open the meet as the chief guest. 

A total of 80 players from 24 districts of the competition are participating, divided into two groups. The competition will be held in the Under-14 (7-14 years) junior group and the Under-19 (14-19 years) senior group.

The participating districts are Tangail, Manikganj, Shariatpur, Madaripur, Bangladesh Women's Sports Association (from Dhaka district), Navy College, Dhaka Cantonment (Dhaka district), Mymensingh, Jashore, Khulna, Bagerhat, Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram, Chandpur, Bogra, Brahmanbaria, Khagrachari, Lalmonirhat, Sirajganj, Barguna, Presidency International School (Chattogram), Gaibandha, Gopalganj and Pabna districts.

Kazi Nazrul Islam, executive director of the National Sports Council, will be present as the chief guest in the closing ceremony on Saturday.
