DHAKA, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS)- Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan hogged the
limelight on Day 3 of the National Cricket League (NCL) first round by
claiming a record nine-wicket haul.
His feat came against Mymensingh's match against Sylhet today at Sylhet
International Cricket Stadium. He became just the fifth bowler in the country
to snap up nine wickets in an innings in first-class cricket in NCL. It was
the sixth instance of a bowler getting nine wickets in an innings in domestic
first-class competitions.
Sylhet vs Mymensingh
Opener Shykat Ali hit his career-best 175 to trump left-arm spinner Rakibul
Hasan's 9-wicket haul as Sylhet took the upper-hand over Mymensingh at Sylhet
International Cricket Stadium today.
Thanks to Shykat's knock, Sylhet piled up 489 all out, replying to
Mymensingh's first innings total of 401 all out.
Raikbul took all but Shykat's wicket, which denied him a perfect 10 as the
first Bangladeshi bowler. He ended with 9-168 after bowling 55.23 overs.
There was every chance for Rakibul to claim the record but pacer Shohidul
removed Shykat as he became the ninth batter out.
Mymensingh reached 58-0 at stumps, still trailing by 30 runs. The game seemed
to head toward a draw with just one day being left.
Mymensingh were in control when Sylhet resumed the day at 198-5 but Shykat's
stubbornness helped the side gain the lead eventually. Shykat hit 19 fours
and eight sixes in a knock, spanning 232 balls.
Shykat made two important partnerships on Day 3 to help Sylhet take the lead.
He shared 63 runs for the seventh wicket with Tofael Ahmed who made 79 and
then added 148-run with Ebadot Hossain for the ninth wicket.
Ebadot contributed 58 in a steely resolve to help Shykat keep Mymensingh at
bay.
Chattogram vs Rajshahi
Yasir Ali missed out a back-to-back century but his side Chattogram sensed a
victory against Rajshahi Rajshahi Divisional.
Following his first innings-129, Yasir hit 92 as Chattogram declared their
second innings at 277-9, setting Rajshahi an improbable 483 for victory.
Rajshahi reached 219-4 at stumps on Day 3, still needing 264 for a victory,
which looked out of reach.
Resuming day on 133-4, Chattogram rode on Yasir's fluent batting to throw a
stiff challenge to Rajshahi. He was ably supported by Irfan Shukkur who made
41 and added 71-run partnership with him for the fifth wicket.
Yasir later shared 52-run with Hasan Murad (32) for the seventh wicket.
Shafiqul Islam snapped up 4-66 for Rajshahi while Asaduzzaman Payel picked 3-
35.
Habibur Rahman Sohan played an aggressive 33 ball-45 to give Rajshahi a
fluent start to the chase of a massive target. But Chattogram quickly clawed
back into the contest with some quick wickets before Pritom Kumar and SM
Meherob resisted.
The duo so far added 90 runs in their undefeated fifth wicket with Pritom
batting on 56 and Meherob on 54.
Thanks to Yasir's 129 and Mahmudul Hasan Joy's 127, Chattogram amassed 401 in
their first innings before being all out and later bowled Rajshahi out for
just 196.
Rangpur vs Dhaka
Youngsters Jishan Alam Ashiqur Rahman Shibli batted impeccably to give Dhaka
Division an edge over Rangpur at Sylhet Cricket Academy.
Jishan was batting on 80 with Ashiqur on 46 as Dhaka reached 212-2, taking a
75-run lead at stumps.
Their resistance put Dhaka on top after Rangpur took a massive 137-run lead
in the first innings.
Openers Shadman Islam (37) and Rony Talukdar (42) put on 72 runs from the
opening stand to give Dhaka a solid base but the departure of the duo in
quick succession gave Rangpur a ray of hope to scythe down the batting line
up.
Ashiqur and Jishan dented their hopes, sharing 127 runs for the unbeaten
third wicket stand in an unwavering resolve.
Resuming the day on 308-8, Rangpur added 50 runs with the remaining two
wickets before being all out for 358.
Naeem Islam, who earlier on Day 2 brought up his 34th century, a record for a
Bangladeshi batter in first class cricket, stayed not out on 137.
Ripon Mondol and Taibur Rahman picked up three wickets apiece for Dhaka
Division.
Dhaka were bowled out for 221 in their first innings.
