DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Artisan 6th national men's and 3rd national women's Sepak Takraw championship has begun through a colorful ceremony at Paltan ground adjoining the national stadium in the capital today.

Kazi Nazrul Islam, executive director of the National Sports Council, inaugurated the two-day meet as the chief guest.

Zahin Sajidul Islam, marketing director of Unilever Bangladesh, Md Tafijul Islam Piyal, director of CD Operations & Excellence and Anita Gomez, Chairman of Artisan Outfitters Ltd were present there as the specials guests.

Ali Ahmad Russell, vice-president of the Bangladesh Sepak Takraw Association, presided over the opening ceremony while general secretary Md Faruk Dhali, among others, was present.

A total of 20 men's and 10 women's district teams are taking part in the championship.

On the opening day, Chattogram, Panchagarh, Manikganj, Narayanganj and Joypurhat won their men's matches while Barishal, Nilphamari, Dhaka and Rangamati claimed victories in the women's division.
